City of Allegan   Keystone Designs was requested to assist in downtown planning for the City of Allegan. The project included the adaptive reuse study of vacated second floor areas of central downtown buildings. Second floor spaces on each side of Main Street were used as viable commercial storefronts. Alleyways at rear of buildings were converted to both vertical and horizontal pedestrian corridors, serving both ground level and second floor commercial units. The introduction of new skybridges over Main Street give greater access to second floor businesses. New parking structures, to increase parking density and free up potential development sites, as well as new ground level office space, and linear connector parks were proposed to enhance the downtown area.
